Turkey Break!

damn its been a long time since i last posted... just goes to show how boring my life really is... as well as how damn lazy i am... this has been an awesome break as far as gettin in on really sick deals... somehow black friday really sucked this yr as far as retail stores were concerned... none of em had anythin decent... the few ok deals they had, tax killed... the only one slightly worth it would be the quad plus cheapie ecs board from frys for 200 but i already got a quad so i didnt feel like freezin my ass off for that... i feel sorry for all those sorry bastards who froze there asses off in line ... cuz all the good deal were online... newegg, zipzoomfly, clubit, and amazon had the best shit in their online midnite sales... and there was pretty much no fighting for em either... at 2am here, midnite out in CA, all their sites loaded up w/o lag and i got the goods i want... i guess its cuz everyone was out freezing their asses off... damn it was cold this bf... somehow it was really warm last yr... that was a good bf... so now i have more ram than i currently know what to do w/, most of it is probably goin on ebay... @ 20 for 2gb ddr2 PC6400 is pretty damn hard to resist... plus the nice free 4000 brisbane from newegg after rebate and pawnin off ram on ebay makes for a pretty cheap comp im gona replace my current bt comp at home... its sad how my bt comp w/ be on par w/ my old comp... just tells u how cheap comp parts get these days and how fast technology obsoletes itself... newegg also had a free after rebate sink that im gona slap onto the brisbane and run it passive for a dead silent bt comp... and a nice CM 600w psu free after rebate from zzf helps as well... and so now i have like 300ish in rebate that i better get... and theyre mostly all from ocz and cooler master... and once i get back i got all this random shit i gota sell... theres the dell comp that came w/ my awesome new 24in wide lcd, the wireless bluetooth keyboard that came w/ the mx1000, i already got a dell bluetooth keyboard... the ram that came w/ the brisbane combo... and then when i get back for winter break... i gota gut my old comp and pawn that off... and now for a nice view of my desk... one of these monitors is goin of to my bro when he goes off to college where ever that maybe next fall... which one exactly, i dont know yet...

Europe

just got back from 2wks in europe... and the trip can be summed up in 1 word... expensive... especially london... where everything is essentially double the cost cuz of the crazy exchange rate... course its only relativly expensive cuz im really cheap and they earn more but spend more... people in europe have somehow learned not to eat or somthin... cuz food is incredibly pricey... not only that, theyre really stingy on the portions... well at least for me cuz i eat alot... figures why everyone here is overweight and dying of obesity... also amazingly ive found an airlines shittier than AA, air canada... theyre even more cheapie and anal... they dont even give u a can of soda, they give u a nice small ice filled cup of soda... and theyre like u cant have ur headphones on even tho the planes just sittin there wating for people to get on... not that an mp3 really has the power to bring a plane down or cause some sorta catastrophic instrument failure... this was mostly on the way there... on the way back theyre slightly nicer and didnt care as much... and i got 1 can of soda outa them... the other times theyre all small cups...

so... in total we spent bout 4 days in paris, 3 1/2 in london, and 4 days on tour runnin round belgium, netherlands, germany, and luxemburg... we did just bout every touristy thing to do in paris minus maybe Sacré Cœur cuz it was farther away but i got pics of it from afar... we even went out to versaille and fountainebleu... those were some pretty damn big plalaces in the middle of nowhere/ outside of paris... we went to le louvre and musee d'orsay on the other days and squeezed in nortre dame and l'arc de triomphe/ Champs-Élysées somewhere in there as well

we took the eurostar to london... europeans seem to like their trains... seems a lot more practical cuz europe is small... we took 2 1-day tours out to winsor castle, stonehenge, and bath and another out to oxford and stratford upon avon... theyre ok but theyre pretty rushed cuz it involved alota driving so there wasnt all that much time to roam around... the other days we went to the other palaces, tower of london, buckingham, and kensington... as well as takin a spin on the london eye which was severly overprices for a big ass ferris wheel ride... as i said, london is very expensive... bring a large wallet, u will need it...

so the rest of the trip was a more or less drive thru of belgium, netherlands, germany, and luxemburg... we got to see like 1-2 cities in each country, the rest of the time was driving to the next city... drives were pretty short as well as the visits to each city... we had a lot to cram in 4 days... it was nice to see how diverse each country was even tho they were so close to each other... so that was 2 wks in europe in a nutshell... ill put some pics i took on facebook when i get a round to it...

Home!

so... ive been home for bout a week... driving home was pretty crazy... we some how was constantly stuck in rain... there would be random patches of no rain but then we run back into a major storm... i guess this is what happens when u drive east to west... it was a pretty hellishly long 13ish hr drive thru the night... well at least im home... i think the worst part of coming home is the packing and unpacking... i think the most ive unpacked is my comp... my clothes are still in the luggage and my room is now packed w/ all the random stuff i brought back... im seriously amazed at all the stuff i seemed to have stocked piled in a few months time... as well as how big the dorm room was... i somehow was able to cram all of whats in my room and more in that room...i barely have room to walk in my room w/ all the stuff piled in here... iono if i want to really unpack cuz in a bout 2 months, its time to head back to urbana...

in other news... i have internet on my comp now... not that i didnt have access on my laptop and every comp in the house... i ordered a wireless adapter for my comp a week ago and it finally came in today... my bro invaded my comp desk in the upstairs living room and im too lazy to kick him out/ move all of his junk, especially if im only here for 2ish months... so i got a wireless adapter... i actually had one but it was really shitty and unreliable so i had to get a new one... i have to say, the time it for stuff i get from buy.com varies erratically... i bought a 8800gts from them it came pretty much next day from cali all the way to urbana... i order this wireless adapter and it takes a week to ship from carrollton to plano... i couldve walked there and picked it up and be back in less than day... iono why the hell it takes a week to for it to arrive... oh well, i have internet now so im happy...

since parts are so cheap now... ive built my parents a new comp for under 200 for mobo, cpu, and ram... so now it has the athlon x2 3600+ brisbane, ecs geforce 6100 mobo, and 2gb corsair xms2 ddr2 pc6400 ram... never get ecs tho... they have really shitty bios... and for some reason or another... only 1 core is showin up... iono yet if its the mobo or cpu... im thinkin its the mobo... the bios doesnt support brisbanes i dont think but somehow newegg packaged them together as a combo deal...
